Avoid Direct Sunlight: While it loves bright light, too much direct sunlight can burn its sensitive foliage so indirect light is best.

Consistent Moisture: This is the most critical part of its care. The soil should be moist but never soggy.

Drainage is Key: Ensure the pot has excellent drainage holes. This cypress is very prone to root rot if its roots sit in standing water.

When to Water: Water thoroughly when the top 1 inch of soil feels dry to the touch.4 Do not let the soil dry out completely, or the needles will turn brown.

Euro Cypress prefer a light, well-draining soil. Adding perlite and/or sand to a standard indoor plant mix will add aeration and help with drainage.

During the growing season (typically spring and summer), you can fertilize your tree about once a month. In fall and winter, it’s best to reduce fertilizing or stop altogether.
